Kate Klock Vedder

Mrs. Kate Klock Vedder, widow of the late Herman M. Vedder, passed away on Saturday night at the hospital at East Orange, N.J., where she had been taken after a fall last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. A. Briner, when she fractured her hip. After the death of her husband, H. M. Vedder, which occurred in March, 1921, Mrs. Vedder went to East Orange with her daughter to make her home. She was born in the town of St. Johnsville on the Klock homestead June 29, 1844 and was the daughter of Jonas and Mary Klock. All of her life had been lived in this section. A few years ago Mr. and Mrs. Vedder celebrated the golden anniversary of their marriage and their home life was most ideal and beautiful. She was a faithful member of St. John's Reformed Church of this village and of the ladies' auxiliaries connected with the church. Surviving are one son and three daughters. Prof. Herman K. Vedder of Lansing, Michigan; Miss Estella M. Vedder of Brooklyn, Mrs. Locke Etheridge of Vincannes, Ind., Mrs. Emil A. Briner of East Orange, N. J.,; and six grandchildren, three brothers, Sheldon Klock of St. Johnsville, Jonas Klock and Delos Klock of Ephratah and one sister, Mrs. Julia Putnam of St. Johnsville.

The body was brought to her home on Kingsbury avenue Monday and the funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. H. C. Ficken officiating. Interment was made in Prospect View cemetery.
