Henry A. Klock

MORRISONVILLE, N.Y. —Henry A. Klock, 93, formerly of Madison Street in Mohnton, Pa., died Nov. 26, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. in the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He had previously lived with his son, William and daughter-in-law, Anna Mae Klock on Jersey Swamp Road in Morrisonville, N.Y.

His wife, Mabel S. (Killian) Klock, died in 1999.

He was born in Branchdale, Schuylkill County, Pa., the son of the late Dr. Egbert LeRoy Klock, MD and Anna D. (Young) Klock.

Klock was chairman of the art department of Valley Stream South High School in Valley Stream, Long Island, N.Y., from 1938 until retiring in 1968. From 1931 to 1938 he had taught art in Delano, Pa.

He was a former semi-pro baseball pitcher for the Orwigsburg Panthers.

Klock was a graduate of New York University and attended the Academy of Fine Arts in New York City and the Brooklyn Museum School.

He is also survived by another son, LeRoy Klock in Reading, Pa., and two daughters, Elizabeth A. Klock in Florida and Susan R. (Klock) Finney in Queens, N.Y.

Other survivors include eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Dec. 8, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Lighthouse Church in Orwigsburg, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Orwigsburg Historical Society, 100 East Market St., Orwigsburg, PA 17961 to the attention of Jennifer Frantz.
