Elizabeth Ann Jones Klock Obituary: December 6, 1916

Elizabeth Ann Jones Klock, wife of Simeon Klock (George J. Klock, Jacob I. Klock, Johannes I. Klock, Hendrick Klock)

"A GOOD WOMAN FALLEN ASLEEP

Elizabeth Jones was born in the town of Scriba, Oswego Co., eighty-nine years ago, July 29th. Nearly seventy years ago, she was united in marriage with Simeon Klock, who died sixteen years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Klock moved to this village about fifty years ago. Early in life Mrs. Klock became a member of the Congregational church and was always happy in the privilege of attending the church services. She was devoted to her home and made it a joy spot for her husband and children. She had exceptional qualities in the accomplishment of sustaining friendships. To know her was to love her and it was her great delight to reciprocate kindness shown by her friends. Though she had come so near the four score and ten almost a score of years beyond the alloted time, she bore those years gracefully, and kept an attitude towards life which many much younger would envy. A little over a week before she departed, she suffered the sad experience of having her only son, Arthur, taken by death. She was eager to do for him in his last sickness and did all she could. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Louis J. Clark, and Miss Adaline S. Klock in her home circle of this village and Mrs. William G. Scott, of Pittsburgh, Pa., all of whom were with her when she fell into the rest and sleep for which she was fully prepared and into which she was not afraid to enter. The funeral was held from the home, corner of Bridge and Church streets, Saturday at two o'clock, Rev. H.A. Lawrence, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiating. Friends coming to attend the funeral were Mrs. Eleanor Turner, of Scriba, a sister of Mrs. Klock and the last surviving member of the family from which Mrs. Klock sprang; her son-in-law, Mr. Wm. G. Scott, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mr. C. Edward Jones of Albany; Mr and Mrs. Sumner Jillette, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Avery, Maysell Markham, of Syracuse, Mrs. Isaac Poole, Mr and Mrs. Ernest Markham of Lysander; Mr and Mrs Henry Alexander and Mrs. Frances Alexander of Fulton; and Mrs. Florence Norris of Oswego."

Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Jones Klock, I found on line, do not know what paper it came from.
