Klock, Donna Jean Marie

Donna Jean Marie Klock, age 81, died on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at her home in Cross Plains, surrounded by her family, after a short, courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born in Little Willow, Richland County, Wis., on April 9, 1923, the daughter of the late Buford and Mary Eva (Janney) Braithwaite. She was united in marriage to Conrad Klock on Nov. 9, 1946, in Bloom City, Wis. Shortly thereafter, they moved to the Merrimac area, where Donna lived for 57 years. Donna was a homemaker and had been a beautician for several years. She enjoyed baking, housekeeping, raising chickens, playing Culvers bingo, reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles and Jeopardy. She was proud to be a 10-gallon blood donor and an election worker in both Merrimac and Cross Plains for more than 40 years. Donna was a member of Merrimac United Methodist Church and Royal Neighbors of America. She is survived by three children, Connie (Neil) Nygaard of Madison, M. Brian (Janet) Klock of Cross Plains, and Steve (Debby) Klock of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, Brad (Tami) Nygaard of Waunakee, Jeff (Renee) Nygaard of Long Beach, Calif., Heath (Teresa Howes) Klock of San Marcos, Calif., Andy, Mindy and Casey Klock of Cross Plains, and Megan and Jordan Klock of Plymouth; a sister, Ardell Turnipseed of Gillingham; cousin/"sister," Juanita Dernay of Colorado; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, on Aug. 19, 1991. A funeral service will be held at Merrimac United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, with Pastor Anita Genrich officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005. Memorials may be given to Merrimac United Methodist Church. Donna's family would like to thank Home Health Hospice of Sauk Prairie for their excellent care and attention. Donna will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted wife, chocolate lover, wonderful friend, great cook and faithful servant of God.

Additional Information: Donna Jean Braithwaite married Conrad Klock (Claude, Henry, Jacob, John J. Jr., John J., Johannes J., Hendrick Klock) Conrad was born August 09, 1923 and died August 19, 1991 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sauk County, Wisconsin.
