Stella Shell Petrie,

Mrs. Stella Snell Petrie, 78, wife of Leonard C. Petrie, 136 Jackson Street, until last week residents of Plessis, died this morning at 6:15 in the Mercy Hospital, where she had been a patient since Saturday.
Ill about two years, Mrs. Petrie had been a patient in other hospitals before entering the Mercy hospital and last fall underwent an operation in the hospital at Alexandria Bay.
Mrs. Petrie was born in the town of Orleans May 18, 1871, a daughter of Frederick and Martha Klock Snell. Most of her life was spent at Plessis. On January 15 she and her husband moved to this city.
She was married three times. On June 26, 1895 she was married to Amasa C. Robinson at Lafargeville by Rev. D. D. Phelps. Of the marriage, two children were born: Leonard and Irene. Mr. Robinson was killed in a saw mill accident at Plessis about 1899 and the two children were adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Potter, Barnes Corners, taking the name of Potter.
Later, she married to Emmett F. Hunziker, who is also dead. She was married to Leonard C. Petrie at Lafargeville about 35 years ago.
Survivors, besides her husband, include three children, Leonard F. Potter and Mrs. Grant B. (Irene Potter) Riordan, city, and Myrtle R., who was born of her second marriage, is married and lives at Rosiere, and a sister, Mrs. Mina Calhoun.
