Obituary of Mrs. Martha Klock Allen

Mrs. Martha N. Allen. Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bressette near Woodbridge Corners for her mother, Mrs. Martha N. Allen, whose death occurred in her 80th year on Wednesday. Rev. Kennedy officiated and burial was in Gouverneur.

Mrs. Allen was born July 28, 1856, at Ogdensburg, daughter of William and Mary Brotherton Neil. She was married twice. Her first husband was Amos Klock. Following his death she married Henry Allen, who died several years ago.

Surviving are three sons, Amos Klock, of Madison, O., William Klock of Gouverneur, and George Klock, Ogdensburg; two daughters, Mrs. Bressette and Mrs. J. W. Booth of Stockton, Cal., and several grandchildren.

Mrs. Martha K. Allen, 80, Dies. Canton, April 30.

Mrs. Martha Klock Allen, widow of Henry Allen, died at the home of a brother on the Canton-Ogdensburg road in the town of Lisbon at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage.

Mrs. Allen was born in Ogdensburg July 28, 1855, a daughter of William and Mary Brotherton Neil. She resided in Ogdensburg during her lifetime until six months ago when she moved to the home of her brother on the Ogdensburg-Canton road. She had been ill since June.

Martha Neil married Bates Aaron Klock (Luther, John J. Jr., John J. Johannes and Hendrick Klock). She was born on 24 Jun 1847 in Montgomery County, NY. Bates Aaron was born June 24, 1851 and died July 7, 1894 and is buried in Riverside cemetery, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. Martha was married twice, first to Bates Aaron and second to William Henry Allen. Bates Klock and Martha had the following children; Amos Nelson, Mary Jane, William Jacob, Cora May, Levi P., Zelphia Ann, George Henry and Hannah. Martha and William Henry Allen may have had twin girls that died in infancy.
